Saiful Idris is a producer and founder of independent record label, SRNDR Records. He began his love affair with dance music in the late 1990's on the dancefloor of Singapore's renowned superclub, Zouk. He then picked up DJ-ing, with a repertoire spanning the dance music spectrum, from jazz and broken beats to deep soulful house, and from deep, tech-house and tribal house to progressive house and trance. His productions are just as varied, and are hugely inspired by the sounds he fell in love with back in the early 2000's - music that moves the mind, body and soul, and is built on elements that transcend the different sub-genres of house and techno. His inspiration ranges from the warm, organic, deep and soulful sounds of Blaze, Osunlade, Masters at Work, Francois K, Ben Watt, Bugz in the Attic, Restless Soul, Tortured Soul, DJ Gregory, Jerome Sydenham, Joe Claussell and Dennis Ferrer, to the big room, electronic manoeuvrings of Danny Tenaglia, Steve Lawler, Futureshock, Circulation, Subtech, Pete Heller, Underworld, Sasha, Max Graham, John Digweed and many more. His label, SRNDR Records, proudly purveys music that reflects an appreciation of the structure and aesthetics of early but timeless electronic dance music - of the old but original school.
