Lillo R is Carlos Ramírez, a Colombian DJ/producer and one of the founders of Ointe Records. A big fan of electronic music since childhood, Lillo R’s productions are very much inspired by the American legends of house and techno, and vary from house, deep house and minimal house to tech-house and techno. Much like his DJ sets, his productions have a strong underground feel and of course, a distinctly Latin flavour.
startech42 meanwhile is a producer from Berlin, Germany, who grew up with the legendary open air summers in Berlin, which nurtured his love and passion for electronic music. As a producer, he was always fascinated by music that is both gritty and playful, and his productions typify that dichotomy of extremes. Formerly a guitarist, he started producing house and techno tunes, and after years of experimenting and learning, released his first track in 2019 on Trippy Code, followed by further releases on Vivifier Records and Rollerblaster Records, receiving support from radio and club DJs all around the globe.
Not letting the fact that they live continents apart, the duo have worked together on several releases since 2020, a testament to the borderless nature of music-making in the 21st century. Their SRNDR debut, “Saxo”, is a jacking house track with a strong classic vibe, driven by a bouncy perc-organ bassline, snappy beats and percussions and a smooth saxophone refrain.
