Dan Kashtan is a producer/musician based in Tel Aviv, whose musical identity is shaped around his desire to express specific life experiences and convey a sense of spirituality through melody and sound design. Initially inspired by the melodic and emotive style of fellow Israeli trance legends, Astral Projection, his recent productions recall the explorations of artists such as Stephan Bodzin, Jan Blomqvist, Lauren Mia, HVOB and Christian Loffler.
Kashtan’s debut on SRNDR is “Take Me Back”, an atmospheric melodic techno beauty that features stunningly crafted arpeggiated synths and an arrangement that takes listeners on a beautifully emotive journey. The track recalls a particular moment while travelling in Southeast Asia, aboard a yacht, surrounded by like-minded others who were there to live the moment, with good music, an open bar, a reddish sunset and everything else that makes a moment truly unforgettable. While writing the track, Kashtan drew inspiration from photos of that experience to capture the thrill of a journey full of mystery and beauty, in sound.
