Alexander Bollinger is a German melodic house producer based in Switzerland, where he has called home for over 15 years. He began his musical journey as a grunge musician in the late 80s before later discovering his love for electronic music. Like most adults, work and life took over and for a couple of decades, music became less of a priority. Now as he approaches the magic 50 and following a life-altering burnout, Alexander’s priorities have shifted. Rediscovering his love and passion for electronic music, Alexander picked up the craft of production, honing his skills by watching YouTube videos and through exchanges with other producers. And now he is ready to stir up a musical storm from his studio in his village home just outside of Zurich.
For his SRNDR debut, Alexander presents “All Colours Grey” and it has all the hallmarks of an artist who is making up for lost time. Written while grieving the illness of his father, the song captures his mournful vision of a world that has lost all colour. The track is a stunner and ticks all the boxes of music that moves the mind, body and soul - high production value, poignant songwriting, wonderful melodies, captivating vocals, and an arrangement that is both full of movement and decidedly moving. As late as he may have arrived in the world of electronic music, this is truly a case of better late than never.
His follow-up release is an atmospheric deep house beauty that makes for a perfect end-of-summer soundtrack. Characterised by lush, warm pads, melodic guitar and piano leads, and emotive, lo-fi vocals samples, the track exemplifies the producer's wonderful ability to create music that is moving and tells a story. The highlight of the track is an arrangement that builds slowly and surely, crescendoing in a stirring lead that will surely take listeners back to their best summer romances.
